Information Services

Knowledge Based Helpdesk and Customer Services
VINN operates the customer service for UNINETT Norid AS, the national registry for the .no-domain. The customers are subscribers of .no domain names, registrars in Norway and abroad and the general public.

Information Advisory Services
Our services include guidance and consultancy services in areas related to entrepreneurship, business development and transnational cooperation.
VINN has also developed the recommended textbook on the legislation and corresponding regulations regarding start-up and running of restaurants and other types of food and beverage serving businesses. Owners and business managers in such enterprises are subjected to an obligatory test that is developed by VINN and approved by the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Following a public tender in June 2009, VINN has won a service concession for the sale of the obligatory test to Norwegian municipalities.

Projects
VINN has developed and is the responsible editor for the website interreg.no. The contract was won following a public tender issued by the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development.
We will continue to use our expertise in areas such as business development and international cooperation to develop services aiming to simplify the enterprises’ interaction with public authorities in Norway and abroad.

Teaching and Training Services

Development and Implementation of Hands-on Training Programmes
Currently VINN operates a number of training programmes for business communities in Norway. The programmes include different types of top and middle management training including areas such as innovation and knowledge management, as well as project management training. The programmes are primarily aimed at manufacturing enterprises and the construction and civil engineering industries. However, many aspects of the programmes are equally relevant for other industries and public bodies. The programmes are tailor made to suit the customers’ needs.

Entrepreneurship Training and Guidance
VINN organises and carries out a number of training courses for people who aspire to establish their own businesses. Such courses are often assigned by Innovation Norway following public tenders.
A special assignment for the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) is the net based and eLearning entrepreneurship training given to NAV clients who wish to explore the possibility to start their own businesses.
In general, VINN is tailoring the entrepreneurship training services to the requirements of the individual customers. The back bone of such services consists of two distinctive features:
- The expertise of the personnel assigned to the tasks
-The technology, i.e. the eLearning environment and the learning management system (LMS) applied to the training programmes. 

Tailor Made Courses / Seminars / Workshops
Such assignments are carried out as joint events in collaboration with industry associations, local business communities and individual enterprises. Common topics are
- Introduction to project management
- Financial management of projects (using VINN’s financial toolbox)
- How to stay on top of the rapidly changing conditions for the business societies
- The obligations and requirements of the employer.

Facts about the Foundation VINN
VINN started its services for the industries as early as 1954.
As from 01.09.08 VINN has restructured its business profile, following the purchase of 50 % of the stocks in the consultancy company Bedriftskompetanse AS. VINN’s personnel formerly engaged in consultancy services for the business communities, are now operating under the umbrella of Bedriftskompetanse AS.
